Obamacare – Republican Care

I really don’t flipping care.

Missing in this conversation about health care is personal accountability.

Accountability starts with YOU and the facts are obvious that an overwhelming percentage of YOU are not paying attention.

This is NOT FAKE NEWS.

There is no magical pill that you can take to solve this problem and it is not the medical community’s responsibility.

It is time you put down that “Diet Drink” and focused on yourself.

The largest cause of medical issues in Americans is OBESITY.

Facts about Obesity from the Center for Disease Control

  • More than one-third (36.5%) of U.S. adults have obesity
  • Obesity-related conditions include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer, some of the leading causes of preventable death
  • The estimated annual medical cost of obesity in the U.S. was $147 billion in 2008 U.S. dollars; the medical costs for people who are obese were $1,429 higher than those of normal weight.

It gets even worse for children.

  • The prevalence of obesity affects about 12.7 million children and adolescents.
  • The prevalence of obesity was 8.9% among 2- to 5-year-olds compared with 17.5% of 6- to 11-year-olds and 20.5% of 12- to 19-year-olds.

Yet despite the obvious facts that demonstrate how obesity impacts your health Americans continue to ignore their personal health.

We sit at desks as adults and children spend hours in front of some type of monitor playing “games”.  We are attached to our devices and even take them to bed with us which is a rising health risk.

I don’t have to get either side of the politicians to endorse or talk about my recommended health plan.  What must occur is your decision that you want to live a healthy life.

THE MICHAEL TANNERY MYCARE HEALTH PLAN

If you are ready to make a change it must begin with you. It takes 10,000 steps and daily accountability.

10,000 Steps

Get a Pedometer, a Fitbit or any other device that will record your daily movement.  Cost?  You can get a pedometer on Amazon for $9.99

Track your 10,000 daily steps.  Just going to the office and working will get your about 2,500 daily steps based on my personal experience, not nearly close to the 10,000-daily goal.

10,000 steps a day is a rough equivalent to the Surgeon General’s recommendation to accumulate 30 minutes of activity most days of the week. It should be enough to reduce your risk for disease and help you lead a longer, healthier life. The benefits are many:  lower BMI, reduced waist size, increased energy, and less risk for Type II diabetes and heart disease.

Another reason to do this is that is simple and easy.  No gym membership, no fancy clothes to wear, just you and the pavement.  Too hot for you?  Go to a mall and walk and join the Mall Walking crowd.

Keeping Track

The next step in THE MICHAEL TANNERY MYCARE HEALTH PLAN™ is personal accountability.

Since you are out of the chair and moving, you need to track your food and drink intake.  Being healthy starts with what you put in your body.

Go to MYFITNESSPAL and sign up.  NO COST.

That is the easy part.  The next step is to log everything that goes into your mouth.  That bagel you grabbed this morning in the break room is 210 calories and if you add some cream cheese then you are close to 400 calories.

The only way this works is if you are truthful and consistent.

Cheating only impacts you.

THE MICHAEL TANNERY MYCARE HEALTH PLAN™ is affordable and has measurable results.

There is no application or prescreening, you just need to adopt the NIKE slogan.

JUST DO IT

Working on my 10,000 steps every day,  You can join me on FITBIT
